New Hampshire gutter service

Interesting Facts

Most people do not realize that you should have your gutters cleaned twice a year for optimal performance. Depending on the type of trees that are around your house this may need to increase to three times a year. But on average twice a year in the fall and spring should be the times when you clean your gutters.

If you live by trees then cleaning your gutter may need to be done more often then twice a year. If you have oak trees than twice a year is acceptable, but if you have pint trees then you may need to have your gutters cleaned quarterly. Pine trees shed more than oak and for this reason you need to have additional cleanings.

Also depending on where you live can determine how often you should have your gutter cleaned. As discussed above usually you can rely on the twice a year motto of spring cleaning after the snow has melted and in the fall after the leaves from the tree have fallen. Don't use this as an absolute since every area is different, consult your local gutter repair/installation contractor to determine what would be best for your particular area.

If you do not regularly clean your gutters then you run the chance of getting clogged gutters that can overflow and damage your foundation or cause standing water and attract mosquitoes and other insects. Also if you don't keep your gutters cleaned from debris, they can tear away from the house of business and cause even more damage.

What are the benefits of keeping your gutters cleaned?

If your gutters were installed properly than they can last 20 - 40 years if properly maintained. Depending on the material of the gutter, many of them can outlast the life of a home. The warranty on most gutter installations is 20 year and you can enhance the use of them by proper maintenance.
